YMCA ACCOUNT PRIVACY POLICY

Our Commitment to Privacy
At The YMCA of the USA we constantly strive to put into practice our core values of responsibility, caring, honesty, and respect. One way we do this is by protecting your privacy when you use our web site. We’re providing this notice to explain our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.

The Information We Collect
We collect personal information (name, address, email address, etc.) only when you voluntarily provide this information to us, or if your Association provides this information to us as part of the Annual Report process for compliance purposes, or when registering you for sanctioned YMCA training courses.

How We Use Information We Collect
We use the information you or your YMCA voluntarily provides (about you or your YMCA) in order to track your training history with the YMCA and/or to provide information for the YMCA directory. YMCA Directory information is limited to Y name, individual name, position, and email address. We do not share this information with outside parties, except to fulfill legal reporting requirements and to contracted vendors for the sole purpose of our own operations. (For example, we may give our address list to a mailing house that is processing a mailing on our behalf).

We use return email addresses to answer the e-mail we receive and to send additional information you request. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

We use non-identifying and aggregate information to design our web site and other communications to serve you better. This includes the data we gather through our surveys and logs of site usage. Data you submit in the course of completing any surveys will not used for targeted solicitation without your permission. From time to time we may contact individual survey respondents by phone or email to gather additional feedback, but we will never initiate or continue this contact without your permission.

How We Keep Your Information Secure
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. All personal, identifying information transmitted is encrypted using the current standard of 128 bit encryption technology.

How You Can Access or Correct Your Information
You can access all your personally identifiable information that we collect online by contacting our office via phone or email. We will respond personally to your questions and strive to correct any errors.

To protect your privacy and security, we will always take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access to data or making corrections.

This policy is effective January, 2005. We reserve the right to change this policy at any time, and will make it clear to users if we have done so. However, we will never adopt any policy that is inconsistent with our core values, our mission, or our commitment to your privacy.
